Urging people to keep hope alive, in a post on his Instagram page, the actor said that although it may seem like they are up against a wall right now or heading down a dark path, people should not allow that darkness swallow the good that is in them. Using himself as an example, Benjamin said he was once suicidal but came out stronger.

In his words :

“Not everyone who goes down a dark path comes out safe and sound. Please don’t let go. Keep your head up. I’m supporting you. Look, your testimony is in this test. I know because I have walked this path. There was a time when I was suicidal. Oh, it was a dark place. But I’m still here.

“Look, I almost lost it. I almost let it go. But luckily there were people who could talk to me. There were people I could talk to. But not everyone has the privilege of being able to talk to someone. That’s why I’m here cheering you on today. You know that saying: what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger?

“Yes. You will come out better. So it doesn’t matter what you’ve lost. It doesn’t matter who left you. You still have the most important thing left. You’re still breathing. You’re still here. You’re still alive. That’s the most important thing.”

“So I’m sure you’ll get through this and be better. Stay inspired. Stay motivated. And determined to be a better version of yourself.”

The star actor is one of those who has quit acting and now in the United States.
