“The worst rumour I have ever heard about myself was that I’m a gay. I was shocked to my bones, but at the same time I was excited because I heard that you will blow when people start saying those kinds of things about you, so I told myself, ‘this must be it.
“I have a lot of gay friends, and I love them. They are my friends so I know their sexuality, and I love them to death. I have nothing against them whatsoever.
“But I’m not a gay, and I won’t agree to what I am not. For me, let God be the judge. If it is my sexuality, I would own it. I will be one of the hottest around”.
Known for his depth and range on screen, Uzor Arukwe continues to carve out a unique space in Nollywood, refusing to be boxed in by rumors or criticism. Whether he’s playing a charming lover or a complex antagonist, Arukwe’s message is clear: he’s here to act, to entertain, and to own every role, with or without the noise.
